Hi and welcome!
I’m a NJ/NY-based lighting designer and artist, obsessed with the shape and shadow created by a well-placed light. From a fascination with art history and the visual arts, I found my passion in realizing those images and compositions on the stage. My intention is always to create stories that make an audience feel, because feeling something makes us engage with the art.
I find inspiration outside – in the sunlight through trees in the Blue Ridge Mountains and in the soft shadows of dusk – and in the constant practice of creating art, together. It is the collaboration that makes live performance special.
My design and assistant work includes projects for Conflux Dance Theater, Chamber Dance Project, Music Theatre Wichita, Theatre Aspen Education, Henrico Public Schools, the University of Richmond Theatre and Dance program, and independently produced work.
     Best wishes,
          Alex
